Belize Lifeline
Harvest Aviation is a physical, emotional and spiritual support mechanism for missionaries who are serving God in the Central American country of Belize.
PHYSICAL SUPPORT
Although Belize is often thought of as a resort location and tourist destination, missionaries know that beyond the resorts of the coastal areas, there are people with many needs and few resources. Items that we take for granted in daily life are simply not readily available in Belize or are cost prohibitive for the missionaries and the people they serve.
Harvest Aviation conducts monthly mission flights which bring packages, supplies and equipment from Central Florida directly to missionaries operating in Belize. The ability to receive these items is critical to the long-term success of a missionary in the field. Harvest Aviation also transports missionaries and their families to and from the mission field, breaking down a costly barrier which can often limit the amount of time a missionary has to spend in the country.
In order to make sure that there are no barriers for missionaries to use this service, Harvest Aviation provides all of its transportation services to missionaries absolutely free. We have each witnessed the great personal sacrifices that missionaries have made to follow the call of God. We believe it is each of our obligations to support missionaries in every way we can, making it easier for them to follow their call and give them the tools to make the most of their individual ministries.
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT
Serving as a missionary in remote areas often leaves missionaries feeling alone and cut-off from the rest of the world. Churches and supporters make missionaries feel very welcome while they are home on furlough but, for many reasons, may not be able to maintain the same level of attentiveness and support after they depart for the field. Harvest Aviation is a constant reminder that a missionary's brothers and sisters in Christ are thinking and praying about them. It also provides supporters a way to help and bless the missionaries on a more regular basis.
Harvest Aviation volunteers are in routine contact with the missionaries in Belize to evaluate their needs and provide support for those needs. This regular contact and caregiving keeps missionaries from feeling cut-off from the rest of the world while they are on the mission field.
SPIRITUAL SUPPORT
In addition to being well-trained and competent aviators, our mission pilots also serve to minister to the spiritual needs of missionaries. On each trip, our pilots (and when needed, our ministry volunteers) stay overnight to spend time with missionaries, pray for them, laugh with them, and just get to know them.
Harvest Aviation also maintains relationships with pastors in central Florida who are available to travel to Belize for several days to minister to missionaries when more serious issues arise. Whether they are facing a crisis or just need some spiritual encouragement, we want to help build up our missionary friends to keep them effective in the field.
