Aviation Institute
Harvest Aviation is developing the Harvest Aviation Institute to train adults for careers in aviation ministry. Students may choose between flight training and aircraft maintenance programs. They may complete a certificate program in their discipline, or they may choose to earn a Bible degree through partnerships with theological seminaries.
Aviation Maintenance Program
As an aviation maintenance apprentice, it won't be long before you have your hands on real aircraft, learning to be an aircraft mechanic in real world conditions. Several missionary aviation organizations in Florida use the institute for their aircraft maintenance, allowing maintenance students to work on real aircraft under the expert supervision of a maintenance instructor. Over the course of a 30-month apprenticeship, you can earn your Airframe Mechanic certificate and Powerplant Mechanic certificate.
Flight Training Program
Have you always dreamed of being a pilot? Harvest Aviation will someday offer professional flight training programs. Whether you feel the call to mission aviation or just want to jump start your aviation career in a positive Christian environment, the Harvest Aviation Institute will prepare you with our Flight Training Program. In twelve short months, you can earn your Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, Multi-Engine Rating, and Flight Instructor Ratings (CFI & CFII).
As you complete each phase of training, you will have the opportunity to use your new skills as a co-pilot on international mission trips flown by Harvest Aviation. You will be able to build hours while helping deliver mission teams to the mission field or by delivering critical supplies to missionaries working in Central America and the Caribbean.
Partnering with Other Missions
The institute serves as a centralized maintenance facility for other aviation ministries. The institute provides aircraft maintenance and inspections to ministries at no labor cost, allowing them to use their resources more effectively.
