Jim Lewis is from Western Ohio, but has lived and worked in several states. He has earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Education from Ohio Northern University, a M.A. in Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling from Trinity Theological Seminary. He retired from United Airlines in 2002, and felt the call of God to use the talents given to him by God to serve in mission aviation. He has been engaged in flying activities for 40 years and has instructed in or flown over 150 different types of aircraft.

Jim was appointed the Executive Director or Harvest Aviation in 2005, and will spend time both coordinating and being personally involved with fundraising efforts, at-risk youth education, mission support flights, and the maintenance and flight academy. He believes that the Harvest Aviation goals of having unity in the body of Christ is a central issue for missionary aviation to be able to better serve those serving Christ on the mission fields of the world.
